iPad lending | Science at Oxford

The RSL, the Science branch of the Bodleian, is now lending out an iPad 2 on overnight loan. I really don’t understand this—what academic work is going to be furthered by borrowing an iPad for less than 24 hours (or, admittedly, a weekend)?

I guess they’ve only got one so it’s basically fine because they haven’t spent an inordinate amount of money on a full set or anything. But I still can’t see any actual reason and the webpage above doesn’t help…
